BIAGIONI GAS : logistic and systems

Now we will try to shortly describe how our distribution of L.P.G. is made.

The L.P.G. is drawn by our direct suppliers through a high capacity truck and then is transferred into the stowage in our Seat, in Masotti area, in the Municipality of Serravalle Pistoiese. Every day our travels to supply the primary stocking are repeated many times and with a changeable frequency according to the period and demand.

Our stowage allows as a whole a stocking capacity of 250.000 litres. The quantity and nature of the fluid in the stowage require a series of procedures and safety systems for our activity. Our seat includes an automatic control room for all the transfer and drawing plants of L.P.G. The supervision is made by informatics that steadily control the safety level of the area. The stowage is equipped with an automatic fire prevention system with a water reserve of tens of thousands of litres and self-contained pumping units running even when, due to safety reasons, the energy must be disconnected. The level and procedures for safety are so rigid that inside the stowage the ways assigned to the supply trucks are different from the those ones assigned to the supply tank trucks of the plants.

The levels and the main physical parameters in the three tanks which make up the depot, are constantly monitored by an automatic system, which also allows displaying their value from our computer system.

From the central stowage, every day, and in some cases on Sundays and holidays, the tank trucks are continuously filled for the supply of our peripheral tanks, both if they serve single users and destined to feed the networks we made in the hamlets on the hills not reached by natural gas plants.

The tanks serving those networks are often integrated by forced vaporizing systems to grant a flux of L.P.G. capable to meet the requirements of the users linked also in critical climatic conditions with low temperatures when the natural gas vaporization would not be enough. Some of those vaporization systems are linked with our telecontrol plants to ensure a continuous surveillance of a right running of the single equipment.

From the local tanks, the L.P.G. is distributed through the networks we made according to the most severe rules of safety and technique now in force. A particular care is reserved to the protection of the metal tubes from corrosion; some networks, such as for instance, the underground ones in the areas near railways, are protected by automatic electrical systems. The user meters are always personal and never collective, and our invoices are issued only after a control of the real consumption.

Our activity allows a continuous supply of L.P.G., above all in those areas, mainly in the mountains and on the hills, not reached by natural gas plants. Our customers are made up by thousands of Users with hundreds of single plants and tens of centralized plants.
